New Year: Adeyanju congratulates maritime stakeholders, predicts sector’s rebound

Maritime workers to shut down port operations nationwide Monday

The President -General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Adewale Adeyanju says the year 2025 looks promising and that the maritime industry will bounce back to reckoning again urging Nigerians to be of good cheers as they celebrate the new year.

Adeyanju in a statement on Tuesday congratulated maritime industry stakeholders urging Nigerians to celebrate the new year with joy, love and happiness amongst each other, eschewing violence, crime and other vices during this festive period as this is the season of love, giving and sharing.

Adeyanju who is also the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Vice President Global, International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) expressed gratitude to God for the relative peace the country has witnessed during the periods of political turbulence through out the year gone 2024.

He enjoined all Nigerians, especially in the maritime sector to be resilient in whatever they do and pray for the expected turn around of the industry for the betterment of the sector and for Nigerians in general.

The foremost labour leader also praised Nigerians for their patience in the face of the excruciating hardship, insecurity and other challenges the country is presently going through, saying that God will recompensate every Nigerian as we enter into the new year 2025.
