Comptroller Adenuga, stakeholders honour Sulaiman as he exits Seme, takes over as Apapa Customs PRO

Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC) Isah Sulaiman has been redeployed to the Apapa Customs Area Command as the new Public Relations Officer, following a send-forth ceremony at the Seme Customs Command where he was celebrated for his professionalism.

Controller of the Seme Area Command, Comptroller Adewale Adenuga who led the tributes at the event held Tuesday at Seme spoke glowingly of Sulaiman’s personality and commitment to duty during the ceremony, which also honoured another distinguished officer, DC Edime, who is retiring from Service.

Comptroller Adenuga revealed he enjoyed working with Sulaiman as the  Command’s Public Relations Officer just as he expressed confidence that Sulaiman would succeed in his new role.

He attributed Sulaiman’s success to his professionalism and remarkable personality.

Adenuga also lauded Sulaiman for his organisational skills and strict adherence to duty within the short period they worked together.

The Controller also thanked DC Edime for his meritorious service and advised him to remain active, noting that retirement is not a death sentence.

Other heads of military and paramilitary agencies present at the event also praised Sulaiman noting that during his time at Seme, he served the Customs Service with distinction and unwavering commitment.

They particularly highlighted how Sulaiman deepened engagement with stakeholders through his humility and professionalism, asserting that his success is “rooted in his dedication to the Service.”

Journalists at the event also eulogized Sulaiman describing him as a journalist’s delight who always brought finesse to his work.

Responding to the accolades, Sulaiman said he was genuinely humbled, admitting that he never expected such an honour as it is usually reserved for higher-ranking officers.

“I’m very humbled to be celebrated,” Sulaiman said, noting that he was privileged to serve under CAC Adenuga.

He specifically praised his boss for creating the atmosphere that allowed officers to excel.

He concluded by thanking the Area Controller, all heads of security agencies, stakeholders, and journalists for their kind words and prayers.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of an award for meritorious service and dedication to duty, jointly given to DC Edime and CSC Isah Sulaiman by Comptroller Wale Adenuga.
