The Vice President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Segun Oduntan, has congratulated the former national president of the association, Prince Olayiwola Shittu, on his 76th birthday, describing him as a reformer whose contributions helped reposition customs brokerage in Nigeria.

Shittu, widely recognised in the maritime industry as a veteran customs broker and respected industry leader, clocks 76 today, Thursday, October 15, 2026.

In a birthday statement issued on Thursday, Oduntan praised the former president for strengthening ANLCA’s institutional standing, promoting professionalism and improving the recognition accorded to licensed customs agents within the maritime industry.

According to Oduntan, Shittu was one of ANLCA’s finest presidents, having elevated the association’s profile and strengthened its standing in Nigeria’s maritime industry and internationally.

“On behalf of my family and the entire ANLCA family, I join your friends, family members, professional associates and well-wishers in celebrating this milestone.

“I celebrate you my boss, leader, mentor and father, former President of ANLCA, Prince Olayiwola Shittu.

“Your exemplary record of service, discipline, dedication, sacrifice and honesty reflects the values that have defined your life and career.

“Your immense contributions to the growth and development of ANLCA are invaluable. Your leadership, wealth of experience and enduring impact on the association and the wider maritime industry remain a source of pride and inspiration to us all,” Oduntan said.

The ANLCA Vice President also highlighted Shittu’s commitment to mentorship, noting that his guidance had helped nurture a generation of leaders within the maritime industry and extended his influence beyond his years in office.

Oduntan said Shittu’s legacy should be recognised not only for his leadership of the association but also for the professionals he inspired and the lasting impact of his contributions to customs brokerage and the maritime industry.

Although Shittu had expressed a preference for a quiet birthday celebration, Oduntan noted that the milestone remained significant to his family, friends, professional associates and well-wishers.

Oduntan prayed for Shittu’s continued good health, long life and strength to sustain his contributions to ANLCA, the maritime industry and humanity at large.

“I pray that Almighty Allah continues to preserve you and your family, grant you sound health and long life, and strengthen you to continue rendering selfless service to humanity,” he said.
