Comptroller A. A Umar has taken over as the substantive Area Controller of Western Marine Command (WMC) of the Nigeria Customs Service.
Umar took over from Deputy Comptroller Enonche.Ochiba who has been in acting capacity since June 2021.
During a brief handing over at the command’s headquarters in Ibafon-Apapa, Lagos, the outgoing Ag. CAC welcomed and congratulated the substantive Area Controller for his posting.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Isah Sulaiman, Ochiba appreciated the officers/men for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout his tenure and urged them to accord maximum support and cooperation to the new Area Controller.
In his remark, Comptroller UMAR urged the officers/men to rededicate themselves to their statutory responsibilities. He charged them to be disciplined and work according to the codes, procedures, departmental instructions and laws as enshrine in the Customs and Excise Management Act Cap C45 2004 as amended.
Comptroller UMAR was among the Comptrollers who were recently redeployed on the 8 February 2022 by the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd).
Until his appointment, Comptroller UMAR fsi was the Comptroller Discipline at the Customs Headquarters, Abuja.
