BREAKING: Buhari confirms Bello-Koko as substantive NPA MD

President Mohammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mohammed Bello-Koko as the substantive Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

In a press statement by the Ministry of Transportation dated February, 15th, 2022 and signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, Eric Ojiekwe, the appointment takes immediate effect.

Prior to his appointment, Bello-Koko was the Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Authority and has been in acting capacity since the former Managing Director, Hadiza Bala-Usman was suspended from office over alleged financial impropriety and official insubordination.

The statement reads in part, “The President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Bello-Koko as the substantive Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority.

“The appointment takes immediate effect.”
