“This is a landmark event for our Command, and we are deeply honoured to have the Comptroller General of Customs personally grace this occasion,” Oramalugo stated.

He emphasized that the CG’s presence is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the welfare of officers and the progress of the Nigeria Customs Service.

He noted that the renovated Officers’ Mess symbolizes an improved space for relaxation, camaraderie, and professional bonding, directly impacting officer morale and welfare.

Similarly, the new COWA Office Complex, according to Oramalugo, acknowledges the “invaluable contributions of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association in supporting officers, fostering community development and promoting the well-being of families within the Seme Command.

Comptroller Oramalugo also lauded the officers and men of the Seme Area Command for their relentless dedication, which he said, has created the foundation for these achievements.

He praised their professionalism in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations.

He reported impressive figures for the first four months of 2025 (January to April), revealing that the Command generated N2,833,454,444.85k in revenue.

In terms of export, the Command processed over 184,000 metric tonnes of goods valued at over N36 billion.

He said the command anti-smuggling strategies also yielded significant results, with arrests and seizures having a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of over N800 million.

Oramalugo extended appreciation to sister security agencies for their synergy, which he said has strengthened border security and peace in the region.

He commended the Comptroller General’s “visionary leadership,” emphasizing that his policy thrust of collaboration, consolidation, and innovation has inspired the Seme Command to achieve these milestones.
