The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria ( MWUN) has felicitated with muslims in the country as they celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir.
MWUN in a statement signed by its President General, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, in Lagos on Tuesday expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency ( NIMASA) and the Seaport Terminal Operators Association of Nigeria ( STOAN) among other agencies in the sector for their collaboration with the union and for providing a convivial atmosphere for work and workers.
The statement reads, “The leadership and entire membership of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria felicitate with all our Muslim brothers and sisters on this occasion of the celebration of eid Mubarak.
“We appreciate the collaboration of NPA, NIMASA, NIWA, STOAN, NASC, employers and stakeholders for providing a convivial atmosphere for work and workers.
“We also congratulate Mr. President – his excellency Mohamadu Buhari, and his team for galvanizing impressive growth within the maritime sub sector and putting in place regulations and standards to govern service and marine operations.
“Our appreciation also goes to the honourable ministers of transportation and labour for their commitment to developing the place of the Nigerian working people.
“Lastly we thank our fellow comrades for keeping faith with us and believing. May Allah continue to bless us this season and forever. Happy eid Mubarak.”
