The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has undergone a remarkable transformation, emerging as a cohesive and reputable labour organization, envied by its peers locally and internationally.
This assertion was made by Senior Partner, Akabogu & Associates, Dr. Emeka Akabogu during a courtesy visit to the Union’s Secretariat in Lagos.
Dr. Akabogu praised the Union’s leadership led by Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, for his pragmatic approach to repositioning the Union.

He highlighted the improved dockworkers’ image and the prevailing peace in the sector, attributing these achievements to the President G’eneral’s bold decisions.
Akabogu expressed his admiration for the Union’s transformation and commended Dr. Adeyanju for his excellent engagement with governments, stakeholders, and practitioners in the maritime sector.
He emphasized the significance of collaboration between the Union and Akabogu & Associates to foster a harmonious operational environment and fruitful engagements.
Responding, Comrade Adeyanju appreciated Dr. Akabogu’s kind words and acknowledged his invaluable contributions to the sector.
He expressed the Union’s willingness to synergize with the law firm to address challenges and explore solutions for the benefit of all stakeholders.
