Following the recent appointments of Mr. Olalekan Badmus and Ms. Vivian Edet as Executive Directors Marine & Operations and Finance & Administration respectively of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has expressed its strong support and congratulations.
“Your appointments did not just come on a platter of gold but as a testament of your uncompromising tenacity to hardwork, wealth of experience and unblemished track record of service delivery,” President General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, said in a statement signed by the Head of Media, MWUN, Comrade John Ikemefuna.
Adeyanju went on to emphasize the union’s “delight” at the appointments, particularly considering the “critical time” faced by the nation’s maritime sector.
He said the union believes that both Badmus and Edet’s expertise will be instrumental in transforming Nigerian seaports into “the hub of port users in the West African sub-region.”
Adeyanju pledged the union’s “unalloyed support and cooperation” to ensure industrial growth, peace, and harmony in all the ports formations nationwide.
