The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) and its Dockworkers Branch have officially inaugurated a unit under the Apapa Bulk Terminal Limited (ABTL), in Apapa, Lagos.
The inauguration held recently at the Union’s National Secretariat, was witnessed by the leadership of the Union, including members of the Seafarers’ branch in solidarity with the ABTL unit.
The elected executives of the new unit are:- Comrades Adebayo Ayodele – Chairman; Chibuzor Uruakpa – Vice Chairman; Ganiyu Olumuyiwa – Secretary; while Sunday John is Assistant Secretary.
Others are Comrades Samuel O. Bassey – Treasurer; Destiny Oliseh – Organizing Secretary; Chigozie Nwabani – Assistant Organizing Secretary; and Chukwudi Obialor as ex-officio.
The leadership of MWUN admonished the newly elected executives of the ABTL Unit to always exhibit good behavior at work and after close of duty for whatever character they display at work and afterwards would project their quality of persons.
“The Union had since congratulated the officers, while explaining to them that first and foremost the image of the Union must not be brought into disrepute,” Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna, Head of Media, MWUN said in a statement.
