The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has announced the death of its General Secretary, Seamen/NIWA, Water Transport Branch, Comrade Com. Patrick Okodo.
Okodo reportedly died on Saturday 5th February, 2022 after a brief illness at his home town in Bayelsa State.
The union in a statement by its spokesman, Comrade Oniha Erazue on Sunday said that the funeral arrangement for the late Okodo will be announced by his family.
“It is with a heart full of grieve and sadness that we announce the sudden demise of Com. Patrick Okodo, who until his death today was the General Secretary of the seamen/NIWA, Water transport branch of our great union.
“Funeral arrangements will be as communicated by his family. May his soul rest in peace,” the statement reads.
The union had last year lost its former NPA branch president, Comrade Sanni Adeleke.
