The President General of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) Comrade Adewale Adeyanju has been nominated to contest for the post of Deputy National President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) election in February 2023.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the union’s media Relations Officer, Comrade Oniha Erazua, the election will hold during the Congress 13th National Delegate Conference scheduled for 7th and 8th of February 2023.
Comrade Adeyanju would be slugging it out with three other candidates namely; Comrade Audi Titus Amba from the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) and Comrade Kabiru Ado Sanni from the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN)
The position of the NLC President is however being contested unopposed by Comrade Joseph Ajaero from the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE)
Comrade Adeyanju was re-elected for a four-year second term in office during the union’s delegates conference, held on 26th March 2021, in Lagos.
