The leadership of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Port Authority Police, Western Command, CP Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola.
The visit, led by MWUN President-General Comrade Francis Bunu Abi and his national executives, aimed to foster a stronger working relationship between the two organizations.

Comrade Bunu Abi emphasized that the visit was crucial for ensuring a smooth and collaborative partnership between the police and MWUN.
He highlighted the union’s commitment to security and safety within all port operations and expressed a desire for sustainable cooperation.
Bunu commended the Western Port Command for its effective security measures, which he said have contributed to the peaceful environment at the ports.
He assured CP Ishola that the MWUN’s doors are always open for the police to work in synergy with the union to ensure seamless operations at all times.
In his response, CP Ishola praised the MWUN leadership for its sincerity and cooperation.
He noted that the peace currently enjoyed at the ports would not be possible without the support of the union and other key stakeholders.
He affirmed that the command holds MWUN in high regard.
The visit concluded with an interactive session where both parties discussed ways to solidify their cooperation, with the goal of creating a safer, more efficient, and productive maritime sector.
