In a significant boost to rural healthcare delivery, the Nigerian Navy has commissioned the Mollah Primary Health Care Centre in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The project, inaugurated on Wednesday, under the Chief of the Naval Staff Special Quick Impact Project (CNS-SQIP) was facilitated by Rear Admiral Kohath Gyelpanyi Levi as part of the Navy’s sustained civil–military cooperation (CIMIC) initiatives.
It is aimed at improving access to quality primary healthcare and directly impacting the wellbeing of host communities.
Ahead of the commissioning, Rear Admiral Levi had paid a courtesy to the Tol Hulba, His Royal Majesty Tol Alheri Bulus Nyako where he sought royal blessings and emphasized the Navy’s respect for traditional institutions.

The visit highlighted the importance of community engagement, local ownership, and partnership in ensuring the sustainability and effective utilization of development projects.
Representing the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, the Director of Policy at Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Adamu Yahaya, stated that the project reflects the Navy’s commitment to people-centred initiatives that complement government efforts in strengthening primary healthcare delivery.

He also noted that the facility would serve as a first point of care, reduce preventable diseases, and improve maternal and child health outcomes for residents of Mollah Town and surrounding communities.
The executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri, was represented at the ceremony by Pharmacist Zirra Mathias Bubanani, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Human Services.
In his remarks, the Governor commended the Navy for looking beyond its primary maritime security mandate to impact lives in landlocked regions like Adamawa.
Community leaders and beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation to the Nigerian Navy for the intervention, describing the health care centre as timely and impactful.
The event reaffirmed the Nigerian Navy’s resolve to strengthen civil–military relations through the CNS-SQIP, while contributing meaningfully to sustainable development and improved quality of life in Adamawa State.
The event was attended by a high-profile delegation, including: the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly., senior government functionaries and traditional rulers and representatives from various neighboring communities.
