…Targets increased cargo traffic to Abuja Chapter
The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA, Abuja Chapter has congratulated and formally welcome Alhaji Sanni Utai, the newly elected Board of Trustees (BoT) member representing the Northern Zone.
Utai was one of the B-9 Like Minds recently elected as a member of the ANLCA BoT.
A statement by the chapter Secretary, Tunji Adekunle said the new ANLCA board member met with the Controller of Customs, FCT Command, Comptroller Olu Adebisi, Deputy Controller, O/C cargo, and stakeholders from other key government agencies as part of efforts to foster collaboration and enhance communication channels between ANLCA and relevant government agencies.

At a meeting convened by executives of the Chapter on September 18, 2024, Adekunle said members deliberated on rebuilding and strengthening the association, exploring strategies to benefit all members.
The meeting, he said, also emphasized on the importance of revenue generation through customs clearing agents.
The statement added, ” There were discussions on ways to attract more cargo traffic to the Abuja chapter, with the aim of expanding business opportunities for members in the region.
“The need for alliance formulation with each zone was emphasized to achieve a strong foothold in the industry and address common challenges collectively.
“The importance of certifications to ensure the eligibility of members and enhance professionalism within the association was highlighted.”
He said the meeting concluded with optimism and commitment to implementing discussed strategies, cultivate a conducive environment for members, and elevate ANLCA’s effectiveness.
“Action items and follow-up tasks arising from the meeting will be disseminated to all relevant stakeholders, with diligent monitoring to ensure the successful execution of the proposed initiatives, ” the statement said.
