The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has officially announced the appointment of the General Manager, Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) Damilola Emmanuel as the new Special Adviser on Blue Economy.
Sanwo-Olu confirmed the appointment of Emmanuel during the launch of the Omi Eko Project in Ikoyi Lagos on Friday.
While commending Emmanuel for transforming inland waterways transportation in the state, the governor said, ” Even having completed his tenure as the General Manager of LASWA, I had to think out of the box and still give him a political appointment as Special Adviser on Blue Economy. This goes to show that there’s so many things that you’re doing in LASWA, you’re doing very well and Lagos still requires of your knowledge and skill.”
Damilola having served as the GM LASWA brings a wealth of experience in water transportation and maritime development.
The Lagos State government is yet to officially announce a new GM for LASWA.
