The Vice President General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Funmi Fasan has been elected as the Chairperson of International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) Women wing.
A statement issued by the Head of media, MWUN, Comrade Kennedy Ikemefuna, said Fasan emerged as the Chairperson at the 7th International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) Women Delegate Conference held in December, 2024,.
Others elected alongside Fasan at the Conference include Omolabake Adelakun from Road Transport Employers Association, as the Vice Chairperson, Safiya Araya from NUATE, Vice Chairperson while Amos Chidiebele of Merchant Navy emerged as the Secretary.
Others are Rukayat Shuaibu – Asst Secretary from (ATSSAN), Ayegba Sarah – Treasurer from Railway, Ogochukwu Ibegbunam – Financial Secretary from ANAP, Modupe Odunmuyiwa- Auditor from ROAD, Onyeka Anthonia as Welfare from RAIL, Okezie Dickson Ijeoma – 1st Trustee from M/Navy, Uguru Fidelia Uwaoma – 2nd Trustee from NUATE, Oloyede Olaide – 1st PRO ATSSAN, Popoola Temitope – 2nd PRO from MWUN and Comrade Sister Igbokwe Ngozi Tochi – Ex-Officio.
The new executives are to serve in their various capacities for a term of four years.
