The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria ( MWUN) has formally inaugurated Silo Bulk Cargo Truck Owners as a unit under the Dockworkers Branch.
The ceremony, which held at the union’s Secretariat in Lagos on Monday, saw the swearing in of the unit’s elected executives.
President General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju in his address urged the new members to maintain a high level of discipline and adhere to the union’s Constitution.

He warned that any form of illegitimate activities would not be tolerated by the leadership of the Union.
In his remarks, President , Dockworkers Branch, MWUN Comrade Tajudeen Ibrahim Ohize also reminded the newly elected officers to abide by the union’s rules and regulations.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman,Silo Cargo Truck Owners Comrade Olarenwaju Taofeek expressed gratitude to the MWUN leadership and pledge to uphold the union’s principles.
He also assured the Union of the members’ loyalty to the district, branch and national officers of the union.
The newly elected executives include: Comrade Afolabi Michael as Vice Chairman, Okunade Olalekan as Secretary; Kenneth Ledum- Assistant Secretary, Adeogun Ayodele- Treasurer; Amao Samuel – Organiser; and Godspower Echendu- Assistant Organiser.
Others are: Comrade Olukiran Idowu- Auditor; Oyeniran Monsuru – Financial Secretary; Okelola Fatai- Ex officio and Oyedepo Saheed ex officio.
