The Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘D’ (Bauchi) of the Nigeria Customs Service has announced a formal change of command as Comptroller Abdullahi Shuaibu Kaila officially takes over the mantle of leadership of the unit.
Comptroller Kaila takes over from Comptroller Abubakar Lawal who recently retired from Service.
At a brief handover ceremony held at the unit’s headquarters in Bauchi, Comptroller Lawal expressed his profound gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the entire management team for the opportunity to serve and for their unwavering support throughout his tenure.
Comptroller Lawal also commended the dedication and resilience of the officers and men of the unit.
He noted that their hard work was instrumental in the unit’s significant achievements in its anti-smuggling operations and revenue protection across its vast jurisdiction.
In his remarks, Comptroller Kaila pledged to consolidate the achievements of his predecessor and committed to the continuation of the unit’s anti smuggling mandate.
The FOU Unit Zone ‘D’ has a jurisdiction spanning nine states including Bauchi, Gombe, Borno, Benue, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, Plateau, and Nasarawa.
