Customs boss, Olori Haastrup, ANLCA chietains, industry stakeholders celebrate Oduntan’s Diamond Jubilee in grand style

Ikeja, the capital city of Lagos State was yesterday aglow with celebration and heartfelt tributes as maritime industry stakeholders, dignitaries, business partners, and the freight forwarding community gathered to honour the Vice President of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Prince Segun Oduntan, who clocked 60 on Wednesday, March 18th, 2026.

The diamond jubilee celebration commenced with a church service where family, friends and well-wishers offered gratitude to God for Oduntan’s life and remarkable achievements.

Following the church service, the celebration led into a grand reception at the Marcellina Hall in Ikeja GRA, which saw a massive turnout of members of ANLCA, alongside friends and family drawn from different walks of life, all united to celebrate a leader defined by his unwavering integrity and profound professional impact.

Among the milieu of dignitaries that graced the occasion was the Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, ACG I. Isyaku who represented the Comptroller General, Wale Adeniyi; Chairperson, Seaport Terminal Operators Association of Nigeria (STOAN), Olori Princess Vicky Haastrup; and former President of ANLCA, Prince Olayiwola Shittu and his wife, Stella.

Also in attendance were the President of ANLCA, Sir Emenike Nwokeoji; ANLCA BoT member, Dayo Azeez; ANLCA patron, Taiye Oyeniyi; Western Zonal Coordinator, Femi Anifowoshe; the National Treasurer, Hajia Bola Muse; and the Chapter Chairmen of Apapa, Tin Can, Onne, and Seme respectively, along with business associates too numerous to mention.

The highlight of the reception was the grand entrance of Oduntan, who was accompanied by his wife, Fumilayo, their three children and other family members. As they entered, guests rose in a standing ovation to welcome them, while a live band set a vibrant celebratory tone that filled the hall with dance, joy and music.

Chairperson of STOAN, Olori Princess Vicky Haastrup, opened the event with a heartfelt address, eulogizing Prince Oduntan as a man of rare substance.

She emphasised his transparency, stating that his integrity is his hallmark.

Her words, “It is a thing of joy for me to witness the 60th birthday of my dear brother in whom I am well pleased. Segun is a man of many parts. He can be tough because he is a -no- nonsense man but behind that toughness he is also soft.

“He is a straight forward man, he has integrity. What you see is what you get. He will not lie to you. He is a very loyal and faithful person.”

Haastrup prayed for Oduntan’s continued success, higher heights, and the celebration of many more years in good health and prosperity.

With each guest taking turns to extol Oduntan’s virtues, the dignitaries, employees and his children acknowledged that the renowned customs broker is a model of integrity, patriotism, and philanthropy.

He was specifically lauded for touching countless lives through employment and for his consistent contributions to the growth and development of the nation’s maritime industry.

In heartfelt tributes, Oduntan’s children described him as a deeply caring father whose strength and wisdom guide the entire family.

Oduntan’s eldest child, Lanre Iyaniwura spoke on how their father set the standard for them in both business and family life.

“Everything I achieve today, without my father, I won’t be able to achieve it. He set the standard for me in everything especially business wise,” she said.

The celebration continued with the cutting of a beautifully crafted cake adorned with the number 60 and a crown symbolising the royal lineage of the celebrant.

In his appreciation speech, Oduntan thanked the guests, friends and well- wishers for their love and support.

The evening concluded with group photographs, laughter, music, and dancing, marking a truly memorable diamond jubilee for the distinguished customs broker.
