The Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, has congratulated the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) on its 72nd anniversary.
Adeyanju, a former President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) and current President of the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), London, commended the association for its contributions to the nation, particularly its role in the maritime sector.
In a statement, the labour leader described ANLCA as a pioneer association in Nigeria’s clearing and forwarding industry, noting that it had successfully navigated various challenges over the decades and remained strong.
According to him, the long-standing relationship between ANLCA and the MWUN has been characterised by peaceful cooperation, describing both organisations as partners in the development of the maritime industry.
Adeyanju also commended past presidents of ANLCA, including Alhaji Sanni Kamba and Prince Olayiwola Shittu, as well as the incumbent President, Sir Emenike Kingsley Nwokeji, for their contributions to the association’s growth and administration.
He said the Nigerian clearing and forwarding sector would continue to recognise the role ANLCA had played in promoting orderliness and professionalism in an industry it pioneered.
The NLC chieftain further applauded ANLCA’s leadership and members for enduring the challenges associated with the industry, noting that the association had become a recognised name in Nigeria’s clearing and forwarding sector.
He wished ANLCA and its members greater achievements and more successful years ahead as they celebrate the association’s 72nd anniversary.
