The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has congratulated the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Bello Koko, and the CEO of SIFAX Group, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, on their recent honors.
President-General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju in a statement praised Bello Koko for being recognized as the “Public Servant of the year 2023” and head of the “Outstanding Government Agency of the year 2023” by Champion Newspapers Limited.
Adeyanju acknowledged Bello-Koko’s expertise and reforms in the maritime sector, stating that his double awards are a testament to his dedication and a charge for further development.
“Alhaji Bello-Koko is deeply rooted in the Maritime sector, an extraordinary administrator of note; hence, his germane expertise has brought so much reforms of development to the maritime sector, ” Adeyanju said.
Adeyanju who also doubles as the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) also congratulated Dr. Taiwo Afolabi on his appointment as the first Chancellor of Gerar University of Medical Sciences, Ogun State.
He commended Afolabi’s commitment to nation-building, work excellence, and his exemplary management of workers.
Adeyanju noted that Afolabi’s love for academic excellence, research and development for the growth of quality education in the country made his appointment as Chancellor a fitting recognition.
The union prayed for both Bello- Koko and Afolabi to continue to find favor and mercy in their endeavors, accomplishing even more in their respective roles.
