The Vice President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Segun Oduntan, has extended warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslim stakeholders in the maritime industry and across the country, while reaffirming the association’s support for the implementation of the National Single Window initiative.
Oduntan, in a goodwill message issued on Thursday, described Eid-el-Kabir as a season of sacrifice, obedience, unity, and compassion, urging stakeholders in the maritime sector to embrace the values for the growth and development of the industry.
He noted that the National Single Window initiative remains a critical reform aimed at transforming port operations, enhancing trade facilitation, reducing delays in cargo clearance, and improving efficiency within the nation’s maritime sector.
According to him, stakeholders in the sector must work collectively for the successful implementation of the platform to ensure seamless port operation and improved service delivery for the benefit of the economy.
The ANLCA Vice President also urged freight forwarders, customs agents, terminal operators and other industry players to continue supporting ongoing government reforms aimed at modernizing the ports and boosting Nigeria’s competitiveness in global trade.
“The maritime sector remains a critical driver of the nation’s economy and requires continuous collaboration, understanding and commitment among operators to achieve sustainable growth and improved trade facilitation, ” he said.
Oduntan called on Muslim faithful to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to pray for peace, economic stability, and sustainable growth in Nigeria, while also remembering the less privileged in society.
He wished Muslims a peaceful and joyous celebration and prayed for continued progress in the maritime industry and the country at large.
