ANLCA VP Oduntan hails Shittu’s conferment as International Peace Advocate

The Vice President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Segun Oduntan, has congratulated Prince Olayiwola Shittu following his conferment as International Peace Advocate by the United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre (UN-POLAC).

In a statement, Oduntan described the honour as a recognition of Prince Shittu’s decades of selfless service, his reputation as a bridge-builder, and his unwavering commitment to peace and social justice within the maritime industry and the nation at large.

Prince Shittu, a former National President of ANLCA, is widely credited with modernising the association and promoting professionalism among customs brokers in Nigeria.

Oduntan commended UN-POLAC for the conferment, noting that Shittu’s leadership style has consistently been defined by diplomacy and the pursuit of collective harmony.

“Prince Olayiwola Shittu is a man of immense character. Throughout his tenure as National President of ANLCA and beyond, he has demonstrated that the greatest tool for progress is peace. This conferment is not just a personal milestone; it is a victory for the entire maritime community,” he said.

As an International Peace Advocate, Shittu joins a global network of distinguished individuals dedicated to promoting dialogue and mediation across industrial and social spheres.

The role also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those focused on peace, justice, and strong institutions, while supporting initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of vulnerable groups.

The conferment is expected to further elevate the profile of Nigerian freight forwarders and customs brokers on the international stage.

Oduntan expressed confidence that Shittu will continue to serve as a beacon of integrity and an inspiration to future generations of leaders.
