The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has promised to engage with the government and relevant stakeholders to address the issues hindering the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN)’s effective service delivery.
President General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the Council at its headquarters in Marina, Lagos.
During the visit, the CRFFN acting Registrar, Uromta Chinyere, highlighted the challenges facing the council, including the non-payment of workers’ salaries for over six months and the removal of CRFFN’s name from the federal government’s annual budgetary allocations.
Adeyanju expressed appreciation for the Registrar’s resilience and commitment to duty despite the challenges.
He pledged to work with CRFFN to identify and tackle the challenges facing the regulatory body, ensuring efficient service delivery of the Council’s mandate.
During the visit, the union delegations were also intimated on the constitution of a technical committee on identification of challenges militating against the council’s speedy and efficient service delivery.
