The Management and staff of the Nigerian Ports Authority ( NPA) have been thrown into mourning following the death of the Authority”s official photographer, Paul Erakhifu popularly known as “Texas.”
Erakhifu reportedly slumped and died on Friday, May 1.
A source close to the Authority confirmed to Maritime Today that he passed away after attending a departmental strategic meeting of the NPA and later participated in an excursion in Lagos.
Erakhifu was described as a cheerful and friendly personality who related warmly with colleagues and members of the maritime media community.
His death is considered a painful loss not only to the NPA but also to stakeholders in the maritime sector.
