The League of Maritime Editors (LOME) has elected former Secretary, Felix Kumuyi, as it’s new President to lead the association for the next two years.
Kumuyi, emerged during the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Victoria Island, Lagos, taking over from the former President, Mrs Remi Itie.
Other members of the new executive are Francis Ugwoke – Vice President, Eguono Odjegba – Secretary General, Tony Ohakwe – Treasurer, Shola Mekusi – Financial Secretary/Welfare Officer and Okey Iroegbu – Public Relations Officer.
The election was conducted by the Returning, Funso Olojo, a senior maritime journalist.

He promised that he and his team will work hard to deliver on the mandate of the association.
“I am deeply honoured by the confidence reposed in me and other members of Executive Committee. I do not take this mandate for granted. Rather, I see it as a call to service, a call to build on the achievements of those who came before us, and a call to reposition the League for greater relevance, visibility and influence within Nigeria’s maritime sector”, he said.
Members of the new executive were sworn in on Thursday at the end of the seminar/AGM organised in Victoria Island, Lagos.
