Comptroller Odaudu Salefu. has resumed duty as substantive Area Controller of the Western Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Service.
Salefu took over from Comptroller S.D Adamu who served as acting Controller of the command.
Speaking at a brief handing over ceremony at the command in Ibafon, Apapa, the new Customs boss called on officers and men of the command to join hands with him to ensure the command continues to fulfill its mandate in an efficient and professional way.
He urged officers to see change in leadership as a constant phenomenon in their professional career and in life in general.
The CAC also charged the officers to buckle up so as to improve on the existing tempo in anti-smuggling operations and to build upon the achievements of the past administration to achieve an increased scorecard.
He emphasized character and professionalism as a sinequanon to productivity, while further urging officers and men of the command to make discipline and compliance their watch word.
Comptroller Salefu thanked the Comptroller General and his management team for the faith reposed in him and promised to execute his responsibilities effectively and efficiently, a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, M.A Magaji said.
Comptroller Salefu who has worked in various Customs formations and departments brings with him rich and vast operational experience cutting across revenue, enforcement, valuation, classification, ICT, intelligence and administration.
Prior to his appointment as the CAC Western Marine Command, Comptroller Salefu was Comptroller in the Department of Strategy, Research and Policy (SR&P), NCS headquarters Abuja and was until his promotion to the rank of a Comptroller, the DC Compliance, Port Harcourt Area 2 Onne.
